  1. Make ready 1 cup vermicelli/seviyan
  2. Prepare 3 tbsp oil
  3. Make ready as per taste salt
  4. Take as needed water
  5. Take 1/4 tsp turmeric powder
  6. Take 1/2 tsp mustard seeds
  7. Take 1 tsp cumin seeds
  8. Prepare 1/2 inch ginger finely chopped
  9. Prepare 1/2 tsp split chickpea
  10. Make ready 1/2 tsp split black lentil
  11. Make ready 3 green chillies chopped length waise
  12. Prepare leaves few curry
  13. Take 1/2 cup grated coconut
  14. Make ready 1 tbsp chopped coriander leaves
  15. Prepare 1 onion chopped
  16. Make ready 2 tsp lemon juice
  17. Make ready 2 tbsp pea nuts
Instructions to make Seviyan upma:
  1. Take a wok heat up on medium flame add 3tbsp oil, when oil is hot add in mustard seeds, cumin seeds let it splutter, add chopped onions, chopped green chillies, curry leaves,chopped ginger, chickpea lentil, black lentil fry for 2 minutes add pea nuts, saute it until pea nuts fried, add turmeric powder and salt mix well and keep aside, now in a wide sauce pan take enough water add little salt bring it to boil
  2. Add in seviyan cook for 5 minutes, do not over cook,only 75% it should be cooked, (else seviyan gets sticky) drain the water, and add in to the wok
  3. On a low heat mix it well…cover the lid for two minutes, now add fresh coconut,lemon juice and chopped coriander leaves,mix gently and serve hot.
