Get For sambar masala-
Prepare 10 Kashmiri chillies
Make ready 2 tbsp coriander seeds
Take 2 tsp Urad dhal

Prepare 6 pepper corns
Prepare 1 cup Scraped coconut
Prepare 1 lime size Jaggery
Get 1 Tamarind Gooseberry size (soak in warm water)
Take 1 cup Thoor dhal
Take 1 tsp Turmeric powder
Get 1 Carrot
Make ready 1 Manglore cucumber
Make ready to taste Salt
Take For tempering:
Make ready 1 tsp Mustard seed
Make ready little Hing
Prepare 15 Curry leaves
Prepare 4 dry red chillies
Instructions to make Udupi sambar:
Wash and Cook thoor dhal in a pressure cooker with turmeric powder. Mash and keep.
Heat a pan, add 1tsp oil, fry all the dry ingredients and remove pan and add coconut, mix, let it cool. Grind as paste
In a vessel cook the vegetables until soft, add mashed dhal, ground paste, jaggery, salt to taste, and add tamarind juice.
Let it boil for few mins, now tempering the sambar with mustard seed, chilli, curry leaves. If you like add 1tbs of ghee to add more flavour
