  1. Make ready 1/2 cup soaked and cooked brown channa
  2. Prepare 1 cup poha washed and cleaned
  3. Take 1 medium onion chopped
  4. Make ready 1 teaspoon ginger garlic paste
  5. Get 1/2 teaspoon turmeric powder
  6. Prepare to taste salt
  7. Make ready 2 green chilli chopped
  8. Take handful curry pata
  9. Get 1/2 teaspoon mustard sees
  10. Prepare 1/2 teaspoon jeera
  11. Take 1/2 teaspoon saunf
  12. Prepare For Rasam
  13. Take 1 lemon size tamarind pulp taken and kept
  14. Prepare 2 teaspoon rasam powder
  15. Prepare to taste salt
  16. Get pinch hing
  17. Prepare tomatoes chopped one small
  18. Prepare 1/2 teaspoon mustard seeds
  19. Prepare handful curry pata
  20. Take ghee for tadka 1 teasoon
  21. Prepare 1/2 cup cooked toor dhal

Even within Maharashtra, in Vidarbha they eat "Chana Poha". Spicy Chana Rassa with Pohe.it also tastes awesome. In a wok heat oil or ghee, add mustard, cumin seeds and allow to splutter. Now add methi seeds, curry leaves, dry red chilli, garlic and saute until garlic becomes golden brown.

Steps to make Brown Chanapoha and rasam:
  1. For Poha: Take a kadai add mustard seeds, jeera, saunf, hing, curry pata,turmeric powder and cook well now add the onion with pinch of salt and cook well.To this add the cooked chanawith salt let it blend well with the onions. Lastly add poha with salt and mix well.
  2. For Rasam Take the pulp of tamarind, mix in salt rasam powder,hing, tomatoes and boil for a 7 mins then add cooked toor dhal and boil for a min. Now make a tadka with ghee add mustard seeds to hot ghee let it splutter switch off the flame then add the curry pata.Now add the tadka to rasam.Serve hot.
  3. (please keep in mind flame must be off while add curry pata else kitchen stove will flame up)
