The ingredients needed to make Handvo:
Prepare 1 cup Rice
Get 1/4 cup Urad dal
Make ready 1/4 cup Gram dal
Make ready 1/4 cup Moong dhal
Prepare 6 Chillies
Take 1 inch Ginger
Get 2 tsp Salt
Make ready 2 tsp Lemon juice
Prepare 1 tsp turmeric powder
Get 1 pinch asafoetida (hing)
Take 10 Curry leaves
Prepare 4 tsp Cooking oil
Make ready 1 tsp Cumin seeds
Get 1 tsp Mustard seeds
Take 1 cup Carrot grated
Make ready 1 cup gourd
Make ready 1/2 tsp Cooking soda
Prepare 2 tsp sesame seeds
Instructions to make Handvo:
Soak rice, moong dhal, gram dhal, urad dhal for 6 hours separately. Drain extra water and wash again, grind together in mixer jar to the paste.
Transfer the grained paste to a bowl. Grinde ginger, chillis and add to pasta bowl. Heat the oil, season with mustard, cumin, asafetida. Add to paste, add turmeric, salt, lemon juice, carrot and bottle guard cooking soda. Mix the batter well.
Heat 2 spoons of oil in a pan, season with sesame seeds, and add batter to pan, close lid and bake on sim for 15 minutes. When it cooked properly turn off heat and let it cool. Flip handvo and enjoy dish.
