The ingredients needed to make Lobia Daal:
  1. Get 1/2 Cup Lobia Daal
  2. Prepare 4-5 tomatoes
  3. Prepare 1 table spoon Ginger Paste
  4. Make ready 2 Green Chillies
  5. Prepare 1/2Table Spoon Mustard Oil
  6. Take 1 Pinch Hing
  7. Make ready 1 Tea Spoon Jeera
  8. Get as required Some Dhaniya Leaves
  9. Prepare Spices
  10. Make ready 1/2 Tea Spoon Laal Mirch Powder
  11. Prepare 1/2 Tea Spoon Haldi Powder
  12. Make ready 2 Tea Spoon Dhaniya Powder
  13. Make ready 1/2 Tea Spoon Kashmiri Laal Mirch Powder
  14. Take 1/2 Tea Spoon Garam Masala
Instructions to make Lobia Daal:
  1. Wash Lobia Daal properly, them soak it in water for 6-8 hours or overnight.
  2. Chop Green Chillies & Dhaniya Leaves very finely.
  3. Grind Tomatoes finely into purée in a mixer grinder.
  4. After 6-8 hours, drain out all the water from Lobia & then take a pressure cooker, add Daal in it with 1/2 Teaspoon Salt.
  5. Now close the lid & give 1 whistle on medium flame.
  6. After 1 whistle, turn off the flame & let the pressure cooker depressurise naturally.
  7. Meanwhile, take a kadhai or pan, add 1/2 Big Spoon Mustard Oil in it & keep the gas on high flame to burn the oil first.
  8. When smoke starts coming out of pan, turn off the flame & let the oil cool down a bit.
  9. After some time, again turn on the gas & keep it on medium flame.
  10. Then add 1 Teaspoon Jeera & 1 Pinch Hing in it & let them sizzle.
  11. When they start sizzling, add sizzling, add finely chopped green chillies in it & roast them for 1-2 minutes.
  12. After 1-2 minutes, add 1/2 Teaspoon Haldi Powder, 2 Teaspoon Dhaniya Powder, 1/2 Teaspoon Laal Mirch Powder & 1/2 Teaspoon Kashmiri Laal Mirch Powder in it & roast them for 2-3 minutes.
  13. After 2-3 minutes, add finely grinded tomato purée in it with 1 Teaspoon Salt so that they start releasing oil quickly.
  14. After 5-6 minutes, when oil is completely released, open the lid & transfer the boiled daal in it & mix them properly.
  15. Now cook daal in Masala mixture for 4-5 minutes on low flame by adding some water in it.
  16. After 4-5 minutes, add 1/2 Teaspoon Garam Masala, 1Tea Spoon Roasted Kasuri Methi & finely chopped dhaniya leaves in it & mix them properly.
  17. Your Lobia Daal is ready to be served.
