Hey everyone, it’s me again, Dan, welcome to my recipe page. Today, we’re going to prepare a special dish, idli. It is one of my favorites. For mine, I’m gonna make it a bit unique. This is gonna smell and look delicious.

Idli is one of the most popular of current trending meals in the world. It is easy, it’s quick, it tastes delicious. It’s appreciated by millions daily. They’re nice and they look wonderful. Idli is something which I’ve loved my entire life.

To get started with this particular recipe, we must prepare a few ingredients. You can have idli using 21 ingredients and 3 steps. Here is how you cook that.

The ingredients needed to make Idli:
  1. Take 1/2 cup Urad dal
  2. Get 2.5 cup Idli rice/White rice
  3. Make ready to taste Salt
  4. Take Poha (optional) (1/4 cup)
  5. Take Fenugreek seeds 1/2 tspn
  6. Take Dry yeast (needed in cold country)
  7. Prepare Fermenting and steaming steps
  8. Get Wash and soak urad dal and rice
  9. Make ready (6 hours)
  10. Get Grind dal,rice,fenugreek seeds (add yeast and salt) mix well
  11. Take Set the grinded/blended smooth batter aside in warm place
  12. Prepare Let it ferment and rise for 8 to 14 hours(depending the weather)
  13. Get (The batter need to ferment untill it rises)
  14. Prepare On a high flame, bring water to boil in an idli steamer pot
  15. Prepare Mix the idli batter gently
  16. Make ready Pour into the batter into greased tray
  17. Get Cover the pot with lid
  18. Prepare Let the idly steam for 10 minutes
  19. Take Once done, Remove the idly trays
  20. Take Let it cool down for 1 minutes
  21. Take With a help of a spoon remove idli from the tray
Instructions to make Idli:
  1. Soak & Grind urad dal & rice into a smooth batter
  2. Ferment for 8 to 14 hours. Let it rise. Steam idlis. (8 minutes per tray), (i used steamer sheets)
  3. Idli can be served with any curry or chutney
