  1. Take 2 tbsp chana dal (Bengal Gram Lentil)
  2. Prepare 2 tbsp urad dal (Split Black Gram Lentil)

  4. Get 2 tbsp moong dal (Split Green Gram Lentil)

  9. Prepare 2 green chilies chopped
  10. Prepare 2-3 tbsp coriander leaves, chopped

  12. Prepare 1 tsp flax seeds (opt)
  13. Prepare to taste salt
  14. Get 1/2 tsp turmeric powder
  15. Get 1/2 tsp red chilli powder
  16. Prepare 1 tsp coriander-cumin powder
  17. Get 1 tbsp coriander roots, chopped
  18. Get For Tempering
  19. Make ready 1 tsp oil
  20. Get 1 tsp coriander leaves, chopped
  21. Prepare 1/2 tsp cumin seeds
  22. Get 1/2 tsp sesame seeds
Steps to make Bafauri:
  1. Soak the lentils for 4-5 hours. Then grind to a smooth paste by adding very little water.
  2. In a bowl, mix the dal paste and all the other ingredients (except oil). Drop spoonfuls of the batter on a greased plate and steam for 15-20 minutes.
  3. Set aside to cool before transferring to a serving dish. Garnish with chopped coriander leaves and enjoy these zero oil healthy small bites with tomato sauce or green chutney.
  4. Alternatively, it can be stir fried in a little bit of oil with a tempering of cumin seeds and sesame seeds.
  5. For this you need to heat oil in a pan. Temper with cumin seeds and sesame seeds. Saute for a few seconds and then switch off the flame.
  6. Garnish with coriander leaves and enjoy with tomato sauce or green chutney.
