  16. Take 1 tbsp, green chilli paste
  17. Prepare 1 cup,oil
  18. Take 1 cup,fresh coriander

Instructions to make Brown lentils with spring rice (masoor aur hari payaz k chawal):
  1. In a large vessel, combine water, lentils, salt, turmeric, and red chili powder.
  2. Bring to a boil, then reduce heat to medium-low, cover, and cook until lentils are tendered, about 50 to 60 minutes.
  3. Meanwhile, heat oil in a wok and add spring onion and salt and stir fry for a minute.
  4. Then add water and bring it to Boil.
  5. Once water boil, add soaked rice, cover and cook on medium high heat for 8to10 minutes or until water drained. Then cover again and cook for 2 minutes on low flame.
  6. For tarka. Warm oil in a small pan over medium-high heat. Add garlic and green chilli paste and cook until colour change.
  7. Now add spring onion (green part) and cook on medium-high heat for few seconds.
  8. Once tarka is ready, add in cooked brown lentils. Then add fresh coriander and mix.
