  1. Take For chicken
  2. Take 500 g chicken (on the bone)

  4. Get 3 chopped tomatoes

  6. Prepare 2 tbsp fresh garlic
  7. Prepare 2 tbsp soy sauce
  8. Get 1 tbsp cumin powder

  13. Get For Lentils (Daal)
  14. Prepare 200 g lentils (red lentil)
  15. Take 400 ml water
  16. Get 2 garlic cloves
  17. Prepare 1 tsp ginger
  18. Get 1/4 tsp turmeric
  19. Prepare to taste Salt
  20. Get 1 tbsp Oil or butter
Steps to make Mixed Thali (Nepalese Cuisine):
  1. Marinate the chicken with egg, salt and soy sauce. Leave it aside for 30-40 mins. Boneless chicken can be used if you don’t like bones on the chicken.
  2. In mean time, wash and sliced the onions. Peel and chopped the garlic & ginger. Wash the tomatoes and chopped them too.
  3. Put some oil in the pan. Once the oil heat up, add the chicken to fry for 25 mins on medium heat or until its cooked.
  4. Once the chicken is cooked, take it out of the pot, let the oil drain on the greaseproof paper.
  5. Use the same pot to make the gravy, take excess oil out of the pot, only required 2 tbsp of oil into the pot.
  6. Add sliced onions. Cook it for 2-3 mins. Add ginger & garlic. Let it cook till golden brown. Add cumin powder, tomatoes and salt per taste. Cook it for another 5 min on medium heat. Add 1/2 cup of water then add fried chicken.
  7. Mix it all together, serve it in the serving dish. Garnish with fresh chopped coriander. Enjoy.
  8. For lentils (Daal)
  9. Wash the lentils under the cold tap water for 3 -4 times to take any excess starch out.
  10. Place a pot on the medium heat. Add 1 tbsp oil. Add sliced garlic and ginger. Cook for 40 seconds or until little brown.
  11. Add lentils, salt and mix it together. Add water and turmeric. Let it simmer on low heat for 15-20mins. Should you required more water then add little more. Don’t add too much water.
  12. Serve with rice, papadum, pickle or your choice of naan bread or tandoori roti.
